CollabNet VersionOne: Aligning Software Delivery With Business Objectives

    Top 10 DevOps Solution Companies - 2019

The capacity to rollout enhanced business capabilities in continuum has become imperative to survive in today's digital society. As a result, the DevOps landscape is undergoing continues maturity as more companies continue to instill agile disciplines into their existing business infrastructure. DevOps has demonstrated itself as the most assuring strategy for consistently giving businesses an advantage in the marketplace. The arena has also witnessed a paradigm shift in the practice of Docker technology, further encouraging to drive the adoption of agile and lean practices. According to the recent ‘State of the Cloud Report’ powered by RightScale, Docker usage has increased double fold, an impressive jump from 13 percent to 27 percent.

When DevOps arrives at an organization it can quickly take on much of the operational responsibility, from building infrastructure, monitoring, automation, which until then is part of the operations world. The adoption of the DevOps ecosystem has become more apparent in larger enterprises, compared to their counterpart Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs). The growth trajectory symbolizes that technologies supporting DevOps toolchain are presumed to grow by 21 percent globally by the end of 2020. Puppet, Chef, Salt, and Ansible are some noteworthy configuration tools that companies leverage the most. The toolchains facilitate continuous integration, deployment, and delivery to accelerate the DevOps approach successfully. Although firms were focused on deploying containers over virtual devices in the past, they are now gradually deploying these containers over conventional bare metal servers. As the demand for swift product development and delivery grows, multitudes of technologists, service providers, DevOps consulting/services, and vendors have carved out unique methodologies to derive more significant insights into an organization’s existing processes. Their innovation efforts strive at enhancing efficiencies by automating end-to-end delivery pipeline and facilitate consecutive integration and development. Industry experts believe this is the year when organizations of all sizes start not just doing DevOps, but doing DevOps at scale. This will necessitate specialized development tools, with modeling and measurement highlighted over libraries and compilers.

The focus on quality and security required to facilitate a successful software manufacturer today will require a fundamental shift in developer philosophy within the next couple of years. Although the DevOps landscape stands poised to flourish, few concerns still irk the adoption of a comprehensive DevOps approach—security and lack of knowledge. Considering every aspect of DevOps’ advancements, the development process will migrate to a quality-focused procedure within the next two years. Several status-quo procedures will be defined and followed depending on the type of software, which includes IoT, cloud-based analytics, device software, communication software, and mobile to name a few. Enterprises are slowly developing their know-hows about DevOps, in addition to converging on activities which support in enhancing the experience. To help navigate the complex DevOps landscape, our distinguished selection panel, comprising CEOs, CIOs, VCs, industry analysts, and the editorial board of CIO Applications Europe narrowed a list of ten providers that exhibit competence in presenting the community with innovative DevOps solutions.
